Diagnostic Trouble Code Finder provides a searchable database of thousands
of engine, emissions and transmission fault codes by vehicle make. This program makes it
easy to quickly look up code definitions for most makes and models of vehicles so you can know what the code number means.
NOTE: This program does NOT include ABS, airbag, climate control, suspension or body codes. It gives definitions for ENGINE and TRANSMISSION codes only. The latest update also includes many CAN (Controller Area Network) communications codes for late model cars.
This product is ideal if you have a basic code reader, scan tool or scanner software that displays code numbers but not the code definitions. With a click of your mouse, you can look up what a code number means with this quick reference program. Ideal for do-it-yourselfers and technicians who work on a wide variety of makes & models and want to look up codes quickly.
DTC Code Finder covers 1996 and newer vehicles with OBD II and most older makes with OBD I. NOTE: Most OBD II scan tools do NOT display fault codes or code definitions for older vehicles. This program not only gives you the codes for teh older vehicles, but also tells you how to retreive manual flash codes so you don't even need a scan tool.

Diagnostic Trouble Code Finder lists definitions for basic fault codes (pre-OBD II vehicles) as
well as 1996 and newer vehicles with OBD II (including both "generic" and
"enhanced" OEM codes). Also covers many CAN (Controller Area Network) diagnostic codes on OBD II vehicles.

It provides definitions for trouble codes only, and gives you procedures for pulling manual flash codes on 1995 and older pre-OBD II vehicles,
and diagnostic tips for common codes. On 1996 and newer OBD II vehicles, you need a code reader or scan tool to read the code number from the vehicle. You can then use this program to find out what the code means.
